2016 Wine Tours
Magic on a Monday

It was a great day.  I know you might think that visiting the wine country on a Monday in the Fall is the "off-season", but the truth is winemakers and vineyards never really stop working all year long.  Thus, it's always one of the most interesting seasons to visit the wineries and check-in on their progress.  The vines have dropped their leaves in preparation for the Fall but fruit flies are still abundant....as well as various methods to try and control them.  The Fall is truly a magical time of transformation in the wine country and something you need to experience for yourself. Wine. Autumn. Love

It was great to spend a day with this lovely young couple and introduce them to the world of wine.  Plus, it was nice to chat about this unique area and why our wine (and our people) are so special.  If these two represent the future of our country then we should all sleep better at night. Building a Strong Relationship

What a nice weekend for wine tours. A great couple staying at the Allison Inn for the weekend away from the baby for the first time. Although we had overcast skies for part of the day, the rain stayed away and the sun warmed our skin for a moment or two. Overall, the weekend was filled with good people drinking lovely wine, building stronger relationships and making great memories. Isn't that how it should be? Girls Day Out

Good friends who love wine need to do two things....spend more time with each other and drink more wine...and that's what we did!  These girls were a lot of fun and I'm happy we got to spend the day together. Birthday and Family

What could be a better way to celebrate a significant birthday than in the wine country with your family?  Minnesota, Colorado, and Portland got together on this overcast day for some family time and to learn more about the Willamette Valley.  With good wine, a great lunch and lots of laughs, I would call this day a success!  Thank you for making me part of your extended family, and happy birthday!  Below is our favorite photo from this tour.  Your entire album can be found here so you can download or share your memories on social media with just one click.

Hey Sister Sister

Before the next storm rolls in, we had a break in the weather with partly cloudy skies and no rain.  Two sisters, one local and one from Colorado, getting together to catch up and reconnect.  It was a graceful, peaceful and joyous day....here's to watching a family connect!  I look forward to our next tour and helping you learn more about the wonderful wine regions in our area. Below is our favorite photo from this tour.  Your entire album can be found here so you can download or share your memories on social media with just one click.

The Heat with the Sweet

One of the amazing benefits of my profession is getting to meet and spend time with some wonderful people.  Today, when chatting about food and wine pairing, I was told to "balance the heat with the sweet".  Isn't that great?  She was from Minnesota and he (at age 84) is from California.  It was a very wet day but still very bright with these sunny personalities!  Below is our favorite photo from this tour.  Your entire album can be found here so you can download or share your memories on social media with just one click.

Denver & Portland on a Wet Day

Today was a nice day.  A very wet day in the Willamette Valley, but a nice day.  I had two wonderful couples....one from Portland who wanted to learn more about the wine in our "backyard" and another visiting from Denver.  All four were charming and it was my pleasure to meet and spend the day with them.  Our activities today included tasting some lovely and sweet Pinot Gris from a stainless tank which has fermented for only a week as well as an up-close inspection of some partial whole-cluster fully fermented Pinot Noir in its vat.  My tours remind me of school trips taken when I was younger and you get the chance to see, touch and taste all kinds of new things.  It really is a wonderful experience.  Below is our favorite photo from this tour.  Your entire album can be found here so you can download or share your memories on social media with just one click.

Play It Again, Dan

I simply love repeat business.  It gives me a chance teach guest even more about wine, winemaking, and wine history and to visit the various wineries in our beautiful wine country.  It was 85 degrees and clear, and wonderful to see old friends and make new friends on a sunny Sunday. North Carolina & The Windy City

Overcast skies gave way to a beautiful Fall afternoon.  I always feel so honored to share "my backyard" with new friends as well as my appreciation and respect for wine.  The smiles in these photos say it all. A wine tour should be fun, interesting and educational.  And yes, you should get a little tipsy too.  Today's tour reminded me that we all need to pay attention to the "bits, because every bit matters!  Below is our favorite photo from this tour.  Your entire album can be found here so you can download or share your memories on social media with just one click.
