The day started in the Chehalem mountains. A thick fog hung in the air and snow covered the ground, a sign that winter is still in full swing. The cozy fireplace at J. Christopher was a lovely first stop. The ladies enjoyed some beautiful Pinot Noir, a surprising Sauvignon Blanc and we all learned a bit about earwigs. Next, Durant Vineyard (another fireplace!) for scrumptious cheese and olives. And of course some more great Pinot. Ending our trip at Cana’s Feast for some Bordeaux and Italian varietals was a perfect cap for a rainy Oregon day in wine country. The takeaway was that these two friends enjoyed the lighter-bodied reds. Pinot and Nebbiolo won out. We may not have had sun but we definitely had some fun!
